Rev EJ Kemper III
Rev. EJ Kemper III was born in Fort Polk, Louisiana, to a devoted teacher and preacher, fostering a foundation of faith and education. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Pastor Kemper pursued his theological studies at the GMOR Theological Institute, equipping him for a life dedicated to ministry. For 12 years, he served faithfully as the Youth Pastor of First Community Baptist Church in Lake Charles, LA, impacting countless young lives through mentorship and spiritual guidance.
In 2014, Pastor Kemper embraced a global calling, traveling as a missionary to Haiti, where he joined a team of missionaries in constructing an elderly home, demonstrating Christ’s love in action. His service to the community extended further as a former board member of the Southwest Louisiana Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation. A gifted communicator, Pastor Kemper has authored eight books, written columns for Christian magazines, and hosted his own radio broadcast, sharing biblical truths with a wide audience.
In 2016, Pastor Kemper was called to lead Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, where God gave him a transformative vision: UPREACH. INREACH. OUTREACH. Under his leadership, the church has experienced significant growth in membership, enhanced facilities, and expanded community outreach initiatives. In 2021, Pastor Kemper received the prestigious Emerging Leaders Scholarship from the College of Biblical Studies, where he continues his education in Organizational Leadership and Biblical Counseling to further equip himself for ministry.
Beyond his pastoral duties, Pastor Kemper cherishes his family. He is the proud father of two children, Ellis James Kemper IV and Eyana Janae Kemper, and the doting grandfather of Ellis James Kemper V.
